The U.S. DOT requires hazardous materials transportation training for all persons that perform one or more of the following functions:

  • loading, unloading, or handling hazardous materials including lithium batteries;
  • manufacturing, testing, reconditioning or repairing HM packagings;
  • preparing hazardous materials for transportation;
  • supervising or managing hazardous materials transportation safety; or
  • operating a vehicle used to transport hazardous materials.

The course fulfills the U.S. DOT hazardous materials transportation training requirements for: (1) General Awareness & Familiarization; (2) DOT General Safety; (3) Hazardous Materials Security Awareness; and (4) Function-Specific for those Surface Transportation functions performed by various hazardous materials employees at a typical automotive dealership or related facilities, as outlined in the course syllabus.

This course is designed for those hazardous materials employees that perform one or more pre-transportation or transportation functions, as outlined in the course syllabus, when preparing automotive dangerous goods by air and/or vessel.  This course is a compliment to the Surface Transportation of Automotive Hazardous Materials (HMT-0402) training course.
Course Prerequisite: Surface Transportation of Automotive Hazardous Materials (HMT-0402)

This course is designed specifically for parts and service managers that direct other employees to perform one or more hazardous materials transportation or pre-transportation functions.  This course will focus on your responsibilities as a manager or supervisor, to direct others to properly mark and label, package, prepare or transport automotive hazardous materials in commerce.  The course fulfills the U.S. DOT hazardous materials transportation training requirements for: (1) General Awareness & Familiarization; (2) DOT General Safety; (3) Hazardous Materials Security Awareness; and (4) Function-Specific for those functions performed by Parts & Service Managers at a typical automotive dealership or related facilities.

This course is designed specifically for Service, Body & Repair technicians that perform one or more hazardous materials transportation or pre-transportation functions outlined in the course syllabus.  

This course fulfills the U.S. DOT hazardous materials transportation training requirements for: (1) General Awareness & Familiarization; (2) DOT General Safety; (3) Hazardous Materials Security Awareness; and (4) Function-Specific for those functions performed by Service, Body & Repair Technicians at a typical automotive dealership or related facilities, as described in the course syllabus.

This course is intended for Parts Technicians, Warranty Specialists, and Parts Analysts and focuses on the hazardous materials job functions performed by these persons.  The course fulfills the U.S. DOT hazardous materials transportation training requirements for: (1) General Awareness & Familiarization; (2) DOT General Safety; (3) Hazardous Materials Security Awareness; and (4) Function-Specific for those functions performed by Parts Technicians, Warranty Specialists, and Parts Analysts at a typical automotive dealership or related facilities.

Transport Canada requires dangerous goods transportation training for all persons that perform one or more of the following duties:

  • loading, unloading, or handling dangerous goods
  • manufacturing, testing or repairing a means of containment
  • preparing dangerous goods for transportation
  • supervising or managing dangerous goods transport safety; or
  • operating a vehicle used to transport dangerous goods. 
This course satisfies Transport Canada's Transport of Dangerous Goods Regulations (SOR/2020-23) Section 6.2 training requirements, for those functions outlined in the course syllabus.

El Departamento de Transporte de los EE.UU. requiere capacitación en el transporte de materiales peligrosos para todas las personas que llevan a cabo una o más de las siguientes funciones:

  • carga, descarga o manipulación de materiales peligrosos;
  • fabricación, pruebas, reacondicionamiento o la reparación de los embalajes HM;
  • la preparación de materiales peligrosos para el transporte;

Este curso cumple con los requisitos de capacitación de transporte de materiales peligrosos del DOT de EE.UU. para: (1) conocimiento general y familiarización; (2) Departamento de Transporte de Seguridad General; (3) Conciencia de Seguridad de Materiales Peligrosos; y (4 Función específica para esas funciones de transporte de superficie realizadas por los materiales empleados peligrosos en un concesionario de automóvil típico o instalaciones relacionadas, según se indica en el programa del curso.
